Happy
Teachers’ Day
To every faculty member who has stood at the blackboard through summer power cuts and winter fog on the Chopan campus — this page is a small thank you from the students and staff who owe you their diplomas, their skills, and more than a few last-minute exam-eve pep talks.
Every diagram on a torn notebook page started with someone at the front of a room, believing it was worth explaining twice.
At Government Polytechnic Chopan, our workshops run on borrowed equipment and our labs run on generosity — the kind that shows up as an extra hour of doubt-clearing before a practical exam, or a gentle refusal to let a struggling student give up on Surveying or Digital Electronics. This Teachers’ Day, the Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Computer Science, and Electronics & Communication departments join together to say what we usually only manage in a hurried thank-you after results are declared: we noticed, and we are grateful.
To the office staff and lab assistants who keep the campus running quietly in the background — you taught us too, just without a syllabus.
“A teacher can never truly teach unless he is still learning himself.”
Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan
Whose birthday, 5 September, is why we celebrate today
Government Polytechnic Chopan sits along the Chopan–Robertsganj stretch of Sonbhadra district, training students in engineering trades that go straight into the district’s power plants, cement units, and construction sites. None of that happens without a classroom and someone standing in front of it.
Six departments, one thank-you
A sample of the faculty across GP Chopan’s departments — every one of them has a batch of students somewhere quoting their exact words back to a junior.
Turns thermodynamics into stories students still repeat years after graduating.
The reason three batches in a row cleared their board practicals without a single retake.
Walks every site visit twice — once for the students, once to make sure they actually understood it.
Debugs code and confidence with equal patience, usually before 9 a.m. chai.
Kept the workshop lab running through two power cuts and a broken oscilloscope, still smiling.
Convinced a hostel full of engineering students that Hindi literature isn't a punishment period.
To every teacher at GP Chopan — thank you for showing up.
Not just to class, but to the version of us that hadn’t figured anything out yet.
With gratitude, from every batch that passed through these classrooms
